Participation in COST Action PRAYTICIPATE (WG2)

Prof. Konstantinos Giakoumis recently presented his research at COST Action CA23143 – PRAYTICIPATE, within Working Group 2: Social Realities and Networks of Prayer.
His presentation, titled “Making, Experiencing & Regulating Networks of Prayer in the Late-Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Balkans,” explored how devotional practices, spatial configurations, and communal participation contributed to the formation and regulation of historical networks of prayer.
Within this context, he also introduced the SacredTravels4Growth project, outlining potential synergies with the COST Action—particularly in relation to the study of religious mobility, sacred spaces, and community formation, both in historical and contemporary perspectives.
The exchange provided a valuable opportunity to connect historical inquiry with ongoing interdisciplinary discussions on pilgrimage, religious tourism, and sustainable cultural development
